How essential technology and optional analytics choices work on StoryMind.
What cookies are
Cookies are small values a website stores in your browser. StoryMind uses a first-party preference cookie to remember the choices you make in Cookie Settings. Browser storage controls can delete cookies, after which the consent prompt may appear again.
Cookie inventory
The inventory below covers the cookies and browser-stored preferences used by the current StoryMind web application. Matomo is configured with cookies disabled, so accepting analytics does not add a Matomo cookie.

Essential technology
Security, authentication, navigation, the sidebar preference, and consent preferences are necessary to provide requested features. Essential technology cannot be switched off through our settings.
Analytics
Where configured, StoryMind uses privacy-friendly, self-hosted Matomo to understand page use. The Matomo script loads only after analytics consent, sends no analytics until consent is present, and is configured without analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time; no further page views are then sent.
Marketing
StoryMind does not currently place marketing cookies. The separate marketing preference is reserved for future campaign measurement and remains off unless you expressly enable it and this Policy is updated.
Accessible preference controls
The Cookie Settings page provides a visible label and description for each category. Analytics and Marketing are keyboard-operable switch controls with an announced On or Off state, a visible focus indicator, and text that does not rely on colour alone. The page also provides clearly labelled Save preferences and Use essential only buttons.
Managing your choice
Use the descriptive Cookie settings link in the website footer or the dedicated Cookie Settings page to accept optional categories, keep essential functions only, or change an earlier choice. You can also delete the preference cookie through your browser controls. Deleting it does not disable essential technology; it causes StoryMind to ask for your choice again.
